The Goodness of God
Ray's story is a reminder that God's goodness, mercy, and grace continue to call us home whenever we wander.
There is a man named Ray. If you asked him, he would admit that he has not always made the right choices. At times he has been stubborn, determined to follow his own plans instead of God's. Like many of us, he has wandered, thinking he could handle life on his own.
Yet one truth remains constant: God's goodness never changes.
No matter how many times Ray drifted away, God's love never stopped pursuing him. God's mercy was never exhausted, and His grace was never withheld. Instead of condemnation, God continued to extend an invitation to return.
And Ray always found his way back.
Not because he was perfect, but because he discovered that the Father is always waiting with open arms. Every return became another reminder that God's faithfulness is greater than human failure. His compassion is deeper than our mistakes, and His love is stronger than our stubbornness.
Ray's story is not just about one man—it is a reflection of all of us. We may fall, wander, or resist God's leading, but His goodness calls us home again and again.
Today, if you feel distant from God, remember this: His mercy is still new every morning, and His invitation to come home has never been withdrawn.
19 For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous. 20 The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, 21 so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 5:19–21
